Our Story
Tides Home began in 2005 as the vision of Martin and Joanne, a husband-and-wife team with a shared love of interiors and years of experience in retail and importing. They opened their first store at No. 8 Brentwood High Street with the goal of creating a welcoming space where customers could explore thoughtfully curated interiors—offering both statement furniture and smaller home accessories, so everyone could leave with something they loved.
From the beginning, the focus has been on affordable luxury and a warm, pressure-free shopping experience—a place where visitors feel at ease, whether they’re styling a full home or simply looking for inspiration.
As the years passed, the business grew with its community. Collections evolved based on customer feedback and demand, and today Tides Home offers a full range of timeless furniture, accessories, and bespoke services including made-to-measure curtains, blinds, cushions, rugs, and custom furniture.
In 2019, a second showroom opened at No. 18 Brentwood High Street, just a short walk from the original. Today, both locations continue to welcome customers—but in May, we’ll be bringing everything together under one roof at No. 18. This move will allow us to showcase the full breadth of our collection in one beautifully styled space, while continuing to offer the same personal experience our customers know and love.
The next generation of the family has also stepped in. Tom, their son, joined the business as our interior designer after studying interior architectural design. His expertise has elevated our bespoke services, offering clients tailored support on everything from room layouts to finishing touches. He now works closely with his brother Henry, who left a career in recruitment to join the family business—bringing energy, customer insight, and a deep connection to the Tides Home story.
Of course, our story wouldn’t be complete without the dedicated team members who have become like family to us. Catherine supports the day-to-day running of Tides Home, helping with buying decisions, managing our social media, and handling key admin behind the scenes. Ash is a key part of our delivery team—often on the road, making sure your furniture arrives safely and on time. And Joe assists with deliveries, ensuring every item is handled with care—if you’ve ever received a package from Tides Home, Joe likely had a hand in getting it to you with care.
